SQFI Blue Logo An Official sm3 1Implementing SQF Systems Edition 10 Food Manufacturing Training Workshop – 2 day (Formerly known as SQF Practitioner Training course)

This Implementing SQF Systems Training course is approved by SQFI. As a class, we will walk through the SQF Edition 10 Food Manufacturing standard, offering lots of examples on how to cover off and implement the updated SQF standard.

There are three main areas we cover:

  1. Part A – Basically how SQF Certification works
  2. Part B – Module 2 – The System Elements
  3. Part B – Module 11 – Good Manufacturing Practices for Processing of Food Products.

Using the official SQFI training materials, we will go through each of the SQF Edition 10 requirements in a detailed and concise manner. We will give you lots of examples of how to conform to the SQF requirements while keeping your quality management system simple and straight forward.

As we work through the SQF Edition 10 requirements, we map it out on a wall and gradually build a summary of the SQF Edition 10 manufacturing standard, outlining a rough ‘To-Do’ List on what needs to be done to achieve high SQF scores.

We will cover the following:

  • How does SQF certification operate and what does that mean for my business?
  • Basic overview of the standard – what is it trying to achieve?
  • How to set up electronic folders to manage a streamlined and efficient audit.
  • What are the SQF requirements and what do they mean?
  • How do I comply with the SQF requirements?

QMS Audits writes up and assists a large number of clients with all of the GFSI standards, including SQF, BRC and FSSC22000. We use this expertise and experience to explain some non-conformances our clients have incurred and how we have closed them out.

We also suggest practical ways to improve your facility as well as documentation including policies, procedures and your SQF quality manual. Our SQF consulting clients have enjoyed very high SQF scores for a long period of time.

All of our training is conducted in a lively and informative manner. We thrive on class discussion. We are one of Australia’s largest providers of HACCP and food safety training. We keep it real and we make sure it is fun.

If you need any help or advice in booking this Implementing SQF Systems Training, would prefer to pay over the phone or be invoiced and then pay via EFT/cheque, please call us on 1300 404 505 or email us at [email protected].

What will I learn?

We will explain what the SQF requirements are. We don’t cover every single clause, but we cover a lot. We are happy to discuss any part of the SQF manual at the class’ request. We do our best to make sure all of our class members have understood the requirement or clause before we move on.

We will give lots of examples of how to conform with the SQF Edition 10 requirements.

What is SQF? How is this different from HACCP?

SQF is a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard. It is also a HACCP based standard, which means you need to have a HACCP plan documented and implemented in the food business before undergoing an SQF audit.

There are a series of SQF standards including SQF Food Manufacturing, SQF Storage and Distribution and SQF Packaging. For more information about SQF, please visit our SQF page.

Do I bring my HACCP Plan?

Firstly, it is strongly recommended you have completed HACCP Training – Principles and Applications prior to the course – See our Pre-requisites dropdown section.

If you already have a HACCP Plan, or at least a draft, we recommend you bring it with you to class, preferably as a hard copy. As we go through the HACCP requirements (also known as a Food Safety Plan in the SQF Edition standards), you can mark up your plan with brief notes.

Certificates

A Certificate of Attendance is issued on completion of the course by QMS Audits.

An optional exam can also be completed through SQFI. Details and links of how to complete the exam are provided during the training. There is an extra charge of $US75 to complete the SQFI exam, the exam in conducted through an external provider. Payment is made directly to the external provider.

Please note – all SQF Practitioners must have also completed HACCP – Principles and Applications training with a duration of 2 days. See Appendix 2 of the SQF Edition 10 standard.

Prerequisites

A key, mandatory requirement of the SQF standard, is for the SQF Practitioner to have completed a 2 day HACCP Training Course – Principles and Applications. To see our HACCP course – click here

It is strongly recommended this is completed before attending our SQF training. In order to participate in our class discussion, you will need a working knowledge of food safety.
